| Gymnastics is divided into three groups as follows: |

| BEGINNERS |
|
|
 |
Aged from 4 ½ to 8.
An introduction to gymnastics
and progression to learning the basic skills
on floor, vault, bars, beam, trampette,
trampoline and rhythmic gymnastics
(ball, hoop, ribbon). Focusing on British
Gymnastics Proficiency Awards (BGPA)
7, 6, 5, 4 and Trampolining Awards 1, 2, 3 & 4. |
| IMPROVERS |
|
|
 |
Aged from 8 to 12,
suitable for the progressing child or
older beginner. Builds on the basic moves learnt in the beginners group with progression
to developing small routines on their own.
Also focusing on BGPA 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and
Trampolining Awards 4, 5 and 6. |

| ADVANCED |
|
|
 |
Age 8+, this group looks at British
Gymnastics Proficiency Awards 2, 1 and Bronze,
Silver & Gold for Floor and Vault & Rebound.
Also Trampolining Awards 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 and
developing group displays to be performed to the
general public. With the opportunity to enter
recreational level gymnastics and trampolining
competitions. |

What to Wear
When attending a free trial session gymnasts can wear a leotard although cycling shorts or above knee shorts or soft leggings with a t-shirt are acceptable. Hair tied and clipped back. No jewellery, belts, buckles or buttons on clothing as this could cause injuries or damage to the apparatus or clothing. Gymnasts usually work in bare feet although socks are used on the trampolines. School uniform, dresses and jeans are NOT appropriate. |
